How is a waste stream established so Temarry can come and pick it up?
Answer. Our pre-acceptance procedure consists of the following steps: 1. Your Sales rep. will visit you to take a sample, help you fill out the Waste Characterization Form and give you an estimate of what the price will be for disposal. This will be verified during the Pre-Acceptance Procedure. 2. A complete analysis is performed by our Laboratory staff. 3. Our Technical Service, Environmental, Laboratory, and Health & Safety Departments review the information and test results and approve (or disapprove) the waste for processing at our facility. 4. After approving the Profile and establishing the price, our Customer Service Department can then call you to schedule pick-up of your waste through our Transportation Department or you can call us at 1-619-270-9453 in the U.S. or in Mexico call (011) 52-665-655-1462 when you are ready for us. Our Laboratory and Technical Services Departments are dedicated through both training and personal commitment to getting your information and sample processed in the shortest possible time consistent with our high quality standards for all the work that we do. What are the different types of recycling services that Temarry provides?

What chemicals does TEMARRY recycle back into product?
Answer.. TEMARRY recycles a wide variety of chemicals commonly used in industry. Recycled product accounts for 80% of outgoing material from our facility. Here is a list of our most common recycled chemicals that we sell:
What is Fuel-Blending and what materials can be recycled in this manner?
Answer.. Wastes which cannot be recycled to meet customer requirements, but which do meet minimum energy standards, can be blended into liquid or solid cement kiln fuel. These alternative fuels are important to resource conservation because they replace coke, coal, or natural gas at the cement kiln facilities where they are used. The production of cement is very energy intensive, making the energy recovery benefits of our Alternative Fuels Program both cost-effective and environmentally significant. There is no long-term liability once this fuel is burned at these kiln facilities, which are fully permitted by federal, state, and local agencies. Among the chemical wastes that can be made into alternative fuels are: paints, inks and coatings; solvents; oils; residues remaining after recycling; and petroleum process wastes. The wastes are analyzed, and chemists determine the formula necessary to blend them into alternative fuel. Does TEMARRY have its own Transportation Department to Pick up wastes?
Answer.. Yes. Safe, regulatory-compliant transportation of hazardous waste and materials requires top quality, well-maintained equipment operated by the best drivers in the industry. We maintain a fleet of specialized equipment, meeting a wide range of your transportation needs. For your peace of mind and ours, we make considerable effort to ensure that our drivers are the best available and that they have the resources needed to do their job. This includes regular training on the latest DOT regulations and participation in a DOT drug screening program. Transportation means logistics, and that is our specialty. We are always available to assist you in solving tough logistics problems using the best and most appropriate transportation solutions. How can a variety of different chemicals in small bottles and cans be disposed?
Answer.. TThe process of packing various sizes and quantities of chemicals into appropriate size containers is called LAB-PACKING and is part of TEMARRY'S program. Chemical lab-packing has to meet the stringent standards set by DOT, federal, and state regulations. Our services include:
Why is a profile needed before TEMARRY can accept waste?
Answer.. First of all, a profile is required per our permit. However, our thorough Pre-Acceptance Procedure serves two important purposes that protects you and TEMARRY: 1. It ensures that we only accept waste materials for which our facilities have federal, state, and local permit. 2. It enables us to establish, in advance, the appropriate recycling and/or treatment methods, Health & Safety procedures, and pricing for the wastes we accept. 3. All analyses and evaluations are performed on-site by TEMARRY'S professional staff in our laboratory. Can TEMARRY take a waste stream, recycle it and give it back to me for reuse?
Answer.. Yes, waste can be recycled to meet your specifications for reuse by you. Our processing equipment has an unmatched level of sophistication, and can be used individually or in tandem to recycle material to levels of quality that meet tough specifications. How does TEMARRY handle Acid and Base wastes?
Answer.. TEMARRY does not recycle acid and base wastes with organics, metals, and other contaminants. Temarry will pick up acid and base wastes and send them off-site for recycling, treatment, or disposal. When is a Bill-of-Lading used to transport waste as opposed to a Manifest?
Answer.. Manifests are needed for shipments of RCRA and state wastes. A Bill-of-Lading is used for shipments of hazardous materials (not wastes) and non-hazardous wastes only. Please keep in mind that an approved TEMARRY profile is always required whether you use a manifest or a Bill-of-Lading. As an out-of-state generator who ships Hazardous Waste to TEMARRY'S, MEXICO facility, which copies of the manifest do I keep?
Answer.. At the time of waste pick-up, the generator keeps the copy marked "GENERATOR RETAINS" and the copy marked "GENERATOR SENDS THIS COPY TO DTSC WITHIN 30 DAYS". Interestingly enough, the copy does not have to be sent to California's DTSC. However, it should be sent to the appropriate regulatory agency in the generator's state. Please note that special regulations apply when shipping out of the U.S., as Temarry is the only licensed TSDF facility by both the EPA and Mexican government to be able to accept hazardous waste from both American and Mexican companies. Please call our office for details.. 619-270-9453 Is a sample always needed to establish a profile?
Answer.. For the most part, a sample is required and preferred to establish a profile. A sample that we can look at and test ensures that we can accept the wastes per our Permit, do it safely and provide an accurate price for treatment. However, there are instances where a sample may not be needed to establish a profile. Your Technical Service Manager and Customer Service Department can tell you when a sample may not be needed; especially in emergency situations. Generally, virgin material (not been used) that is either off-spec, out-of-date, or excess inventory you want to get rid of may not need a sample. If there is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that has a complete chemical composition so we know what we are getting to safely and appropriate treat the material. TEMARRY presently recycles my solvent waste, but I have other waste that I send out for incineration and landfill since they can't be recycled. Can TEMARRY pick up these waste streams as well?
Answer.. There are wastes that cannot be recycled, processed for reuse, or used as alternative fuels. However, these wastes do require technology-based standards for disposal and can be managed through strictly audited off-site facilities. Options include Incineration and Landfill. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs. |
